Forest Dunes Golf Shuttle — Northern Michigan's Premier Transportation to a One-of-a-Kind Course

★  Lakeshore Shuttle is a Preferred Transportation Vendor of Forest Dunes Golf Course  ★

There's nowhere else in the world quite like Forest Dunes Golf Course. A nationally ranked facility in Roscommon, Michigan — home to The Loop, the only reversible 18-hole golf course in the country. You play it clockwise one day, counterclockwise the next. Same holes. Completely different golf course.

If you're planning a trip here, you've already done the research. You know what makes it special. What you might not have sorted out yet is the transportation — and in this part of Michigan, that matters.

There is no Uber or Lyft serving the Roscommon area. Private transportation needs to be arranged before you arrive. As Forest Dunes' preferred shuttle vendor, Lakeshore is the call to make.

We run private, door-to-door transportation for golf groups from Benzie and Leelanau counties through Grand Traverse and beyond. If your group is making the trip to Forest Dunes, we know the route and we'll get you there right.

About Forest Dunes Golf Course & The Loop

Forest Dunes Golf Course opened in 2002 and quickly established itself as one of the premier golf facilities in Michigan. The original Forest Dunes course — designed by Tom Weiskopf — winds through hundreds of acres of Northern Michigan pine forest, with a natural, unhurried feel that sets it apart from the more coastal courses in the region.

But what Forest Dunes is most famous for is The Loop — the world's only 18-hole reversible golf course, designed by the legendary Tom Doak and opened in 2016. The Loop can be played clockwise (known as the Red course) or counterclockwise (the Black course). The tee boxes, fairways, and greens all work in both directions — same land, completely different strategic challenges depending on which way you're playing.

Serious golfers travel from across the country specifically to play both directions. The combination of the original Forest Dunes course and The Loop makes this one of the most compelling 36-hole experiences in the Midwest — and a natural centerpiece for a Northern Michigan golf trip.

Getting to Forest Dunes

Forest Dunes is located at 200 Conservation Dr, Roscommon, MI 48653, in Roscommon County — about an hour east of Frankfort and roughly 90 minutes from Traverse City. Most visitors arrive by car from Detroit, Chicago, or Grand Rapids, or fly into TVC and make the drive east. Like the rest of rural Michigan, rideshare is not available in Roscommon — private transportation is the only option for groups who don't want to drive themselves.

Private. Professional. Zero Hassle.

Forest Dunes is an hour from our home base in Frankfort — far enough that you really don't want to be coordinating rental cars and designated drivers on top of a long day of golf. Let us handle the logistics entirely.

Perfect for Two-Day Golf Groups

The natural Forest Dunes trip is two days — one round on the original course or the Red Loop, one round on the Black Loop the next day. We can handle transportation for both days, keeping your group's schedule clean and consistent throughout the trip.

Your Group Only

No shared shuttles. No strangers. Your group travels together, at your pace, in one of our clean, comfortable vehicles. The 14-passenger Sprinter handles most golf groups with room for clubs and gear — the Lincoln Navigator works perfectly for tighter groups of six or fewer.
